Jeanne Aikman

Director of HR

Jeanne is the Director of Human Resources at Andaz London Liverpool Street. For her, #BeWhoYouAre means not being afraid to express yourself and not feeling like you have to hide who you are. This is one of the reasons she joined Andaz London.

She expresses that being a young Black woman has had its challenges, which have helped shape her in becoming the person she is today. Some lessons she has learnt include how important it is to continue to work hard at what you do and be a part of a company like Andaz London that embraces different cultures and encourages you to be yourself.

Jeanne takes inspiration from her mother, who also works in HR within the hospitality industry. Her mother always celebrates who she is and continues to be someone Jeanne looks up to.

One thing Jeanne enjoys about the location of Andaz London Liverpool Street is the culture. Being from East London originally, she enjoys being around different nationalities and learning about their values. She describes Shoreditch as being vibrant, colourful and somewhere you can naturally feel comfortable.

About the Space: Hotel Lobby

‘Andaz’ translates to ‘Personal Style’ and the London hotel exemplifies heaps of this – nowhere more so than in its stunning lobby. Refurbished in 2018, the lobby smoothly and creatively blends the hotel’s Victorian heritage with the modern East London of today.

The feature wall by the front desk is by a local art collective called Le Gun, and the Rhino is work by famous local graffiti artist Otto Schade; the original art is in Shoreditch and it was replicated in the Andaz London lobby.
