Having made her London Fashion Week debut in 2022, the eccentric London-based designer, Lula Laura has built an incredible brand with magic, self-expression and sustainability at the heart of its operations. She creates delicate pieces that are adventurous and non-conformist, wearable and allow everyone to embrace whatever they feel in the moment, but more importantly, live out the dream, fantasy or character that they wish to be.
“Where do I begin?” Lula exclaims, when asked about the milestones and challenges she has faced in becoming who she is. She is a firm believer in listening to herself – paying attention to how she evolves, what she likes or dislikes, and embracing all of this to feel comfortable and strong in her own skin.
Outside of work, you can find her spending quality time with friends and family, but she also enjoys watching movies or listening to music that inspire her to explore new things. She finds a new adventure in constantly challenging herself, and pushing the limits and boundaries that allow her to grow more comfortable in herself.
When you are true to yourself, Lula says that there is no way you can start the day wrong, “You have all the chances to have a good day and be good to people around you”. Being part of the #BeWhoYouAre campaign, Lula Laora exudes the very essence of the Andaz London brand, which she admires for its diversity, freshness and modernity.
‘Andaz’ translates to ‘Personal Style’ and the London hotel exemplifies heaps of this – nowhere more so than in its stunning lobby. Refurbished in 2018, the lobby smoothly and creatively blends the hotel’s Victorian heritage with the modern East London of today.
The feature wall by the front desk is by a local art collective called Le Gun, and the Rhino is work by famous local graffiti artist Otto Schade; the original art is in Shoreditch and it was replicated in the Andaz London lobby.
