Ryan Mullins

Front Desk Host

Meet Ryan Mullins, the Front Desk Host at Andaz London. Ryan is in charge of everything that goes on in the Andaz London lobby, from operating the desk to providing one-to-one guest support on a 24-hour basis. Ryan is passionate about ensuring guests experience only the best of London and go away knowing it like the back of their hand.

Ryan’s goal in life is to help others, and being his authentic self unlocks the potential for him to do this, be it at work or at his favourite pastime, rugby. At his happiest and most comfortable, Ryan is bonding with fellow players on the field and scoring tries for the London Welsh Rugby Club. “If you can’t be your true self, you can’t be happy”.

One word that Ryan is keen to emphasise when describing Andaz is ‘Welcoming’. Having come all the way from Cardiff, Ryan feels that he was welcomed with open arms as he made himself at home in this unfamiliar area. He believes that there are no barriers for anyone at Andaz – everyone is accepted for who they are – and this is reflected in the diversity of staff.

About the Space: Hotel Lobby

‘Andaz’ translates to ‘Personal Style’ and the London hotel exemplifies heaps of this – nowhere more so than in its stunning lobby. Refurbished in 2018, the lobby smoothly and creatively blends the hotel’s Victorian heritage with the modern East London of today.

The feature wall by the front desk is by a local art collective called Le Gun, and the Rhino is work by famous local graffiti artist Otto Schade; the original art is in Shoreditch and it was replicated in the Andaz London lobby.
